Diesel particulate filter regeneration can temporarily change engine operating strategy.

When technicians evaluate injection behavior without recognizing an active regeneration event, normal control changes may be mistaken for injector faults.

Regeneration Changes Engine Operation

Depending on engine design, regeneration may involve changes to:
